Anne (Little) Card, 88, of Mansfield, CT, formerly of Windham Center, died March 22, 2010 peacefully from complications of pneumonia at Windham Community Memorial Hospital with her family by her side. Anne was born in Willimantic, CT the daughter of the late Lyndon Elbert Little and Ruth Lyman Little. She graduated from Windham High School and attended Connecticut College in New London, before her marriage to Walter A. Card in 1943 who predeceased her in 1971. Prior to her move to Mansfield, she resided in Windham for more than forty years and prior to that she resided in Columbia for seventeen years. She was a longtime member of Columbia Congregational Church and First Congregation Church of Willimantic. Anne was among the founders of the Gift Shop at Windham Community Memorial Hospital, and served as a volunteer for some fifty years. Anne and her husband were avid golfers and members of the Willimantic Country Club for many, many years. Anne was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother "Gigi". She leaves four sons, Dick and his wife Sandy of Mansfield, David and his wife Dotti of Hampton, NH, Bill and his wife Linda of Windham Center and Tom and his wife Judy of Plantation,FL. In addition, she is survived by eight grandchildren, Darcy Baldridge, Christopher and Bethany Card, Bill Jr., Scott and Jason Card, Dawn and Laura Card. Anne also leaves two step grandchildren, David Barlow and Kellie Lowry along with thirteen great grandchildren and five step great grandchildren. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Friday between 5:00 and 7:00pm at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic. The Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 9:30am with interment following in Windham Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Windham Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, 112 Mansfield Ave. Willimantic,CT. 06226.
