Anne Alfano Obituary
Anne Veronica Alfano, beloved mother and best friend, died of heart failure at a little past midnight on November 4, 2024. She had just turned 91 on October 28th. She is survived by her eldest daughter, Marisa, and two grandchildren, Emily and Christopher Anari. Ann was an outstanding woman. She was also warm, intelligent, talented, giving, and beautiful. She was a loving wife and dear friend to her husband, Michael Alfano, from their first encounter at a Valentine’s Day Dance in 1952 until his death in 1991.
She worked as an art teacher for years in New York State and devoted her retired time to supporting her two daughters, Marisa and Michelle. She helped Marisa with her drama productions, putting in endless hours designing, and painting sets with students. She spent many hours sewing costumes for the young actors.
She selflessly gave her time to help her much loved daughter Michelle cope with years of struggle with cancer until her death in 2013.
Anne was an outstanding wife and mother, talented artist, inspiring teacher, passionate gardener, and lover of animals, especially the dogs she loved from her early days in the Bronx up until her recent death.
Her passing was as if a warm and bright light left this earth. She will be very sorely missed by all who knew her.
There will be a memorial service for Anne at some time in the future. Those who wish to honor her can make a donation in her name to a local animal shelter or the ASPCA.
