Annaleise Paula Blumenhagen

Loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother Anneliese P. (Leichtfuss) Blumenhagen, 93, of Bella Vista Dr., North Windham, widow of Frederick Blumenhagen, died peacefully at home on Saturday Dec. 15, 2001. She was born July 22, 1908 in Kiel, Germany and came to the United States at the age of 19. After moving to the local area in 1940, she was employed by the American Thread Co. and retired from the Electro-Motive Manufacturing Co. She was an avid gardener and loved flowers. She enjoyed a quiet life at home with her family. Survivors include 2 sons; Ralph of Fayetteville, N.C. and Fredric of Phoenix, AZ., 2 daughters Carol Konstantinov of N. Windham and Dorothy Loiselle of Baltic, a brother Hans Leichtfuss of PA., a sister Jenny Wiese of Kiel, Germany, 14 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday evening at 7:00pm at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic with the Rev. Scott Schuett officiating. Cremation will follow. There will be a visitation from6:00 to 7:00pm prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, her family suggests memorial donations to Hospice of E.
