Ann S. Smith, of N. Windham, passed away peacefully at home on April 12, 2013. She was the loving wife of the late Charles M. Smith. Born in Central Falls, RI, she was the daughter of the late George and Mary (Carpenter) Fournier. She worked for American Thread until its closing and retired from Brand Rex. She enjoyed her retirement in Florida. Ann loved spending time out on the boat with her husband, golf, bunco and dancing with their friends. She had wonderful memories from their many cruises. After moving back to Connecticut she enjoyed her garden, walking and spending time with family. She is survived by her sons John T. Smith of Chaplin CT, Jeff Smith of Oklahoma, and daughter Sherry (Smith) LaVoie and husband Alfred of Canterbury, CT; grandchildren, Tyler, Kyle, Brandi, Levi, Jazmyn, and Zack, and 3 great grandchildren. Ann is survived by her sisters Janice Ciccone and husband Joseph, Jane Aceto and husband Henry, and brother Robert Fournier and wife Carol as well as many loved nephews and nieces. She will be laid to rest with her husband Charles. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday April 16, 2013 between 6:00 and 8:00pm at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday April 17th at 10:00am at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St. Willimantic, with assembly in the church parking area at 9:45am. Interment will then follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham. In lieu of flowers, her family suggests memorial donations to Hospice of Eastern CT., 34 Ledgebrook Dr., Mansfield, CT. 06250.
