Ann Marie Savos, 69, of Storrs, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday (February, 23, 2002). Ann Marie was born in Panama to a career Navy man and spent much of her early life in New London. She graduated high school from The Williams Memorial Institute in 1950 as valedictorian, received her undergraduate degree in Chemistry from Connecticut College in 1954 and followed with a Master's degree in Chemistry from the University of Connecticut where she taught briefly. An avid and talented musician, song, dance, the piano and organ were all prominent parts of Ann Marie's life. She recently directed the Mansfield Senior Center's chorus, which was a source of great joy for her. Ann Marie was well known for her extensive life long volunteer work. She is survived by her son, Chris, her daughter-in-law, Elissa, her grandchildren, Jacob, Samantha and Emily Anne, her sisters, Helen Williams and Marge Dudonis and her companion, Walter Killam. A memorial service will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the Storrs Congregational Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Hospice of Eastern CT, 34 Ledgebrook Dr., P.O.
