Ann Gaucher

December 22, 1928 — January 17, 2015

Ann K. Gaucher, 86, of Willimantic, CT, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away on January 17, 2015 at Saint Joseph Living Center in Windham CT, where she was surrounded by her loving family. Ann was born in Bridgeport, CT to the late John and Jennie (Goda) Kasper. She attended University of Connecticut from 1946 to 1950 and graduated with a degree in Social Work. There she met her husband of 65 years Harry S. Gaucher Jr. They settled in Willimantic where Ann was an active volunteer for the Hospital Auxiliary, the 10/50 club and the Jaycees. After raising her children she worked for many years as an aide in the Windham Public Schools. In their retirement, Ann and Harry enjoyed years of worldwide travel, especially the trips with their grandchildren. Together they were ardent supporters of UCONN sports. Ann's greatest passion in life was her love of family. In addition to her husband she is survived by her children, Karyn (Gaucher) Bovino and her husband George Bovino of Carmel NY and Chip Gaucher and the late Karin Albaitis Gaucher of Windham. She also leaves five loving grandchildren and four great grandchildren whom she adored, Anthony Bovino and his wife Sydney and their son Christian; Michael Bovino and his wife Kate and their daughters Annie and Grace; Benjamin Gaucher and his wife Kim; Erin (Gaucher) Paradis and her husband Evan and their son Brady; and Daniel Gaucher and his wife Meredith. Ann also had a host of cousins, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends who loved and will miss her. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday Jan. 22, 2015 between 5:00 and 7:00pm at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday Jan. 23rd at 11:00am at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St. Willimantic with assembly at the church. Rev. Roger Lamoureux will officiate. Interment will then follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham. For those wishing to make a memorial donation in lieu of flowers, Ann's family suggests St. Joseph Living Center due to the wonderful care she and her family received while she resided there.
