Angela Landolphi Obituary
Obituary: Angela F. Landolphi
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Angela (Marie) FitzGerald Landolphi, 57, of Hampton, CT, beloved wife of Robert M. Landolphi, on November 7, 2024, after a long and arduous battle with multiple health and spinal issues. Angela was born on June 9, 1967, in San Diego, CA, to Edward and Elizabeth (Kopko) FitzGerald, who are predeceased. She graduated from East Catholic High School in 1985, earned a bachelor’s degree in English literature at Villanova University in 1989, and completed her Master’s Degree in Communication Sciences at UConn in 1998. In addition to her husband, Angela is loved and survived by her sons, Joseph, Andrew, and Stephen; sister, Kathleen FitzGerald of Maynard, MA; brother and sister- in- law Michael and Jacey FitzGerald of Smyrna, GA; brother and sister- in- law, Edward and Jill FitzGerald of Mableton, GA; brother and sister- in- law, Kevin and Darlene FitzGerald of Coventry, CT; sister Maryanna FitzGerald of Smyrna, GA; brother- in- law and sister- in- law, Tony and Dana Drouin of South Windsor, CT; sister- in -law Heidi Peltier, and Graysen Garrett of MA; cherished nieces and nephews: Danny, Tommy, Mary Catherine, Matthew, Christopher, Victoria, Emily, Luke, Brooke, Gus, Theo, and Nate; beloved in- laws Michael and Mimie Landolphi of Andover, CT, and Nancy Brocklehurst of Willington, CT; and a beautiful extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins in Rhode Island, New York, and New Mexico. Angela was a bright, funny, prayerful, and generous woman. She was filled with motivation and gave a hundred percent to the variety of jobs she held during her life, beginning as a lifeguard at the age of 15, waitressing at local restaurants, working as a Wedding Coordinator and Banquet Manager at Glastonbury Hills Country Club (where she met Rob, the love of her life), serving as a Legislative Aide and Assistant to Governor Lowell P. Weicker, and finally spending 25 years as a dedicated Birth- to- Three Speech and Language Pathologist with McLaughlin & Associates and EastConn. She always felt privileged to be helping and supporting children with special needs and their families. Angela was a devoted Catholic, with a profound love for the Faith, the Holy Mass, adoration, the rosary, and attending devotions with friends and family. She lectored masses in several parishes over the years, had a special place in her heart for the local Franciscan Friary, its beauty and dedicated Friars, and for all the faithful and generous diocesan priests who ministered to her over the years. Angela enjoyed reading, writing, editing books, navigating health concerns for others, and helping her boys with schoolwork and projects. She cared deeply for others and took the time to help and to listen to those in need. Angela had a quick sense of humor, and loved especially to laugh at herself and with her siblings and friends. She was an avid runner, spending many early mornings logging miles before work, competing in local races with Stephen, and running half marathons. She enjoyed hiking, vacationing with her family, attending weddings, baptisms, and parties where she could sip wine with friends and dance like a teenager. She was happiest just being around Rob and her incredible boys, and watching them excel at everything they did. She felt blessed to have so many cherished and supportive friends whom she loved dearly and viewed as members of her extended family. Her life and memory will remain forever inscribed in our hearts and minds. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday November 13, 2024, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St, Willimantic CT; with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M on Thursday November 14, 2024 at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, in Baltic, CT. (70 W Main St. Baltic, CT) Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Baltic, CT.
