Andrew M. Szych Jr

Andrew M. Szych, Jr., beloved son, brother and uncle, passed away peacefully of natural causes at home on April 2, 2015 at the age of 47. He grew up in Ashford, graduated from E.O. Smith High School in 1985 and received a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Connecticut in 2000, where he achieved the honor of "University Scholar". His culinary talents led him to many adventures and positions over the years from California to Long Island. He was recently employed by Natchaug Hospital. Andrew was kind and generous and had many devoted friends, especially Lynne Allevo of Ashford. He especially enjoyed weekly film outings with his nephew, Dylan. He is survived by his mother, Pamela Chase and her partner, Georgianna Gagne of Ashford; his father and stepmother, Andrew M. Szych, Sr. and Patricia Peters of Ashford; his sister and brother-in-law, Dawn and Robert Meduna and a special nephew, Dylan Meduna, of Mansfield Center; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. There are no calling hours. Services are private. Contributions may be made in his memory to the Make-A-Wish Foundation or The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp.
