Andrew Craig Campbell of Coventry, passed away on Friday, October 19, 2012, after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was 61 years old. Andrew was a native of Wayne, NJ. After graduating high school he attended the Ridgewood (NJ) School of Art. In 1977 he moved to Connecticut with his family and started a career in carpentry working on renovation projects in Hartford, eventually becoming a master trim carpenter and cabinet maker. He was artistic and creative in his work, enjoying the process from start to finish. As a person Andrew was warm and gentle, witty and intelligent, handsome and charming, reliable and steady, but most of all, kind and loving. He leaves behind a large and loving family, and many longtime friends. He and his wife Linda met at 16 and developed a bond of friendship that grew into a true and loving relationship. They celebrated their fortieth wedding anniversary in July. Together they raised two sons, Andrew "Ease" of New Haven, CT, and Jesse of Cambridge, MA. In June Linda and Andrew watched as their oldest son, Ease, married Jessica Lennington. Andrew was a nurturer who loved his family unconditionally. Andrew's spirituality rested in his love of nature. He spent many hours sitting quietly, observing the beauty around him, listening to and absorbing the natural world. In addition to his immediate family, Andrew is also survived by two sisters, Lynne King and her husband Walter of Catawissa, PA, and Nancy Hartje and her husband Jim of Otto, NC; four brothers, James and his wife Linda of Haskell, NJ, Douglas and his wife Joan of Vernon, NJ, Christopher of Willington, CT, and Ronald and his wife Ginger of Saddle River, NJ. He also leaves behind his in-laws, Albert and Carolyn Alfano of Mansfield, CT; fifteen nieces and nephews, twenty great nieces and nephews, as well as other family members and friends, many of whom were invaluable in helping to provide the care Andrew required in the later stages of his illness. The family wishes to thank everyone for this outpouring of love. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Tri-County Greenhouse (a nonprofit vocational program for disable adults), 290 Middle Tpk., Mansfield Depot. CT 06251. The family plans a celebration of Andrew's life at a time and place to be announced. For an online memorial guestbook, please visit
