Andres Santiago

Andres Santiago, 71, of South Windham, husband of the late Alice Santiago, died Monday, November 16, 2009 in Mansfield. He was born September 24, 1938 in Puerto Rico and had lived many years in Hawaii and then San Diego before moving to South Windham in 2006. Andres enjoyed cooking and gardening and as a young man had owned a restaurant in the Park Street area of Hartford for several years. He is survived by his children, Mickey Espara of Hartford, Andres Santiago Jr. of Puerto Rico, Andres Jones of Willimantic, Antwan Jones of Willimantic, Unita Jones of South Windham, Anna Gibb of Pennsylvania, Lourdes Santiago of Puerto Rico, Bernice Jones of Willimantic and Pierlette Jones of Niantic, a sister, Ines Rollon of Willimantic and many grandchildren. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Willimantic on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. There will be a gathering at the funeral home on Thursday morning at 10:15 a.m. prior to the procession to his Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Church, Valley St., Willimantic.
