Amanda Marie Mellady, 34, of Columbia, CT, passed away suddenly on February 18, 2015 as a result of a cerebral aneurysm. Amanda was born on November 22, 1980 in Norwich, CT and was a graduate of Lyman Memorial High School class of 1999. She worked as a disability case specialists for Met Life. Amanda was a devoted loving mother who touched the hearts of all who knew her. She enjoyed photography and gardening. She took pride in creative projects which transformed her house into a home. Her final days were spent surrounded by family as she received her angel wings. She is survived by her loving children Cameron, age 11, Talan, age 6 and Adalyn, age 3, and their father Brandon Hancox. Her parents Marc and Deborah Mellady (Ouellette), her brother Jeremy. Her paternal grandmother (Memere) Claire Mellady. Her aunts and uncles, Rob and Marie Quinn, Michael and Nanette Mellady, Ronald and Nancy Ouellette, Daniel and Stephanie Ouellette, Mark and Pat Ouellette, Timothy and Shelley Ouellette, Thomas Ouellette, Greg Ouellette, Norma Jean Niger and several cousins. She was predeceased by loving cousin Casey Yates and her grandfather (Pepere) Raymond Mellady. Her family will receive friends and relatives Sunday, February 22 at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St.(Rte. 195), Willimantic, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, February 23rd, 11:00 a.m. at St. Columba Church, at intersection of Rte.66 & Rte.87, with assembly at the church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a scholarship fund for Amanda's children, First Niagara Bank, P.O. Box 131, Columbia, CT. The family would like to thank the Columbia Fire Department and Connecticut State Police Troop K, Colchester for their timely, professional response.
