Alma (Russ) Sullivan, 90, of Windham Center, widow of John Sullivan Sr., died Sunday March 14, 2004 at her home. She was born October 5, 1913 in Conway, SC, the daughter of William and Effie (Waller) Russ and had lived in Windham most of her life. She was a graduate of the University of South Carolina and was employed for many years in the Traffic Services Division at the University of Connecticut until her retirement. She is survived by a son John "Jack" Sullivan Jr. and his wife Debra of Chaplin, a sister, Ruby Arnold of Windham Center and Myrtle Beach, SC, 2 step-grandchildren, Aaron Rathburn and Valerie Rathburn, 4 nieces, Susan Arnold Ochs and her husband Richard of Ellicott City, MD and their daughter, Abby, Peggy Holmes of SC, Cheryl Carlton and Lynn Tribble of GA, 5 nephews, Charlie Freddie and Phil Graham of SC, William Carlyle Russ of FL, and Stephen Arnold Russ of SC. Her family wishes to thank her caregivers, Heidi Grillo, Donna Chicky, Sara Vertefeuille, Irene Brousseau, Donna Bill and Dawn Simoneau, whose kindness brought comfort and extended the life of Alma through her illness. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Willimantic with the reverend James Beesley officiating. Burial will follow in the New Willimantic Cemetery. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home 1 hour prior to the service.
