Alma G. (Frechette) Racette, 87, formerly of 300 Windham Rd., Willimantic, widow of Edgar Racette, died Tuesday Dec. 17, 2002 at St. Joseph Living Center, Windham. She was born Jan. 25, 1915 in New Bedford, MA. ,the daughter of the late Joseph and Marie Louise (Lamarre) Frechette. She had been employed by the Electro-Motive Manufacturing Co. and then at UConn until her retirement. Alma was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Willimantic and St. Thomas Aquinas Chapel in Storrs. She was also a longtime volunteer at the Immaculata Retreat House in Willimantic. Alma was an avid Boston Red Socks fan and UConn Lady Huskys fan. Her greatest joy was to gather with her family. She is survived by her daughter and son in law Aline and Matt Koch of Mansfield, 3 brothers; Simeon Frechette of Plainfield, Leo Frechette of Danielson and Ernest Frechette of Moosup, 2 sisters; Irene Gasiorek of Danielson and Rita Mailhot Spear of N. Ft. Myers, FL., and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 2 brothers; Alfred and Joseph Frechette Jr. and by 4 sisters; Ora Comtois, Eva Coderre, Exilda Theroux and Rose Fafard. Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00pm. There will be a gathering at the funeral home on Saturday at 9:15am prior to the procession to her 10:00am Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church, Valley St., Willimantic. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham. In lieu of flowers, her family suggests memorial donations to the Immaculata Retreat House, 289 Windham Rd., Willimantic, Ct. 06226.
