Alma Lesniaski obituary Alma M. Lesniaski, age 73, died on April 7, 2004. She was a long time resident of Willimantic, and in later years lived in East Hartford. Alma Marie Floeting was born June 11, 1930 in Brooklyn, NY, and moved with her family to Eastford, CT when she was six. A graduate of East Hartford High School, she received her bachelor's degree and M.Ed. from Willimantic State Teachers College (now Eastern Connecticut State University). She married a fellow teacher, George Lesniaski, in 1951. Mrs. Lesniaski taught 4th grade and 7th grade reading and social studies from 1961 to 1978 at Horace Porter School in Columbia, where she was well-liked by her students and their parents. After her retirement from teaching, she completed graduate studies in business at the University of Connecticut and worked for Advo Systems of Hartford for the next decade. She was a long time cat fancier who also enjoyed music and sewing, and in recent years she became an avid UCONN basketball fan, subscribing to cable TV so she would not miss a single Huskies game. She was preceded in death by her husband George. She is survived by her son, David (Lisa); sisters Ann Frost and Elsie Bates; brother Bill Floeting; nieces Linda Osyf, Diane Noyes, Sarah Bates, Priscilla Ausman, and Jennifer Emrich; and nephews Everett Frost, Alfred Bates, and Benjamin Bates.
