Allan W. Wass, 66, of Mansfield Center, husband of Caroline (Provost) Wass, died unexpectedly Saturday, July 17, 2010 at the Windham Hospital. He was born December 25, 1943 in Brockton, MA, the son of the late Floyd and Mildred (Gurney) Wass, grew up in Coventry and had lived in Mansfield over 20 years. Allan served as a radioman in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1961 to 1970. He worked with his parents in the family business, Dip N Strip Village Antiques in Coventry. Prior to his retirement in 2007 he was employed as a rural carrier for the Amston Post Office. At the time of his death Allan was working as the evening receptionist at New Perceptions in Willimantic. In addition to his wife of nearly 45 years he is survived by two daughters, Cathleen Paradis and her husband Roland of Taftville and Victoria Mathieu and Ron Jackman of Chaplin, two grandsons, Nathan Mathieu and Jacob Jackman. Funeral services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
