Aline J. (Veilleux) Nye, 85 of Willimantic, CT passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 26, 2012 at Windham Community Memorial Hospital. She was born in Willimantic on February 4, 1927, the daughter of the late Joseph and Marie (Sevigny) Veilleux. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, Willimantic, CT. Her favorite Saint was Elizabeth Seton because of her love for children. Prior to retirement she was employed by American Thread, Electro Motive, Mansfield Training School and The University of CT. After retirement she and her loving husband devoted many years to caring for their grandchildren. They were also able to enjoy living in Florida for part of the year and coming home to family, enjoying their seasonal home at Cha - Wi - Ma Campground in Chaplin, CT. Her greatest moments were spent with her husband and family camping at Hammonasset Beach, creating ceramics for family and friends, crocheting, cooking and relaxing watching The Food Network, QVC, and Lifetime movies. Her generosity and kindness will be remembered by the many people she has helped throughout the years. She devoted her life to her family and friends and will be greatly missed. She was predeceased by her mother and father and two brothers Robert and Albert Veilleux. She leaves behind her beloved husband of sixty-six years, Earl C. Nye; three sons and their wives, Robert and Joyce Nye, of Windham, CT, Earl and Tammy Nye, of Columbia, CT, Lance and Karen Nye, of Ashford, CT, nine grandchildren, Robert and his wife Kathleen Nye ,Cheyne, Kaylee, Brittney, Tyler, Dylan, Patrick, Brandon & Kyle Nye; four great-grandchildren, Jared Nye, Jacob Kandolin, Jordan & Morgan Nye; two sisters Lorraine & Simone Veilleux, a brother Roland Veilleux, many nieces and nephews, along with many relatives in Canada. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at St. Mary's Church, Valley Street, Willimantic, CT at 10:00 A.M. Burial will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to St. Mary's Church, 80 Maple Avenue , Willimantic, CT 06226 or St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
