Alice Lafontaine, 83, of Chaplin, wife of Louis F. Lafontaine, died Monday, April 27, 2009 at the Windham Hospital. She was born March 14, 1926 in Brooklyn, CT, the daughter of Eugene and Roseanna (Renaud) DeVillez and had lived in Chaplin most of her life. She and her husband were married June 29, 1946. Prior to her retirement she was employed for 23 years at Shop Rite Supermarket. Alice was a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Hampton. In addition to her husband she is survived by three sons, Randy Lafontaine and his wife Cindy of Windham, Rodney Lafontaine of Chaplin and Ronald Lafontaine and his wife Lorri of North Windham, seven grandchildren, Dorsey Lafontaine, Doug Lafontaine and his wife Nicole, Dennis Lafontaine, Justin Lafontaine, Nathan Lafontaine, Matthew Lafontaine and Bethany Lafontaine, eight sisters, Dora Petecki of Dowling Park, FL, Pauline Nichols of Danielson, Mary Dixon of Dayville, Florina Weaver and Theresa Davis, both of Danielson, Lorraine Collins of Lebanon, Nancy Bernier of Danielson and Claire Sabourin of South Killingly, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Richard Lafontaine, three brothers, Leon DeVillez, Eugene DeVillez and Teddy DeVillez, and one sister, Ida Blaire. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 41 Cedar Swamp Rd., Hampton. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
