Alice Ciesiensky, 89, of New Britain, widow of Anthony Ciesiensky, died Tuesday, April 23, 2002 in Windham. She was born June 15, 1912 in Scranton, PA, the daughter of Steve and Alexandra (Rafala) Bieryla, grew up there and lived in Bristol for many years before moving to New Britain. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Theresa Ciesiensky of Albany GA, 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Helen Libby of Willimantic, Ann and Henry Kurzyn of New Britain, a sister, Mary Bahaley of Avoca, PA, a brother, Felix Bieryla of Hamden, 14 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 2 great, great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 5 siblings. Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. There will be a gathering at the funeral home on Friday at 10:15 a.m. prior to the procession to her Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, Willimantic.
