Alice (Kennedy) Ahern, of Bundy Lane, Storrs, died Saturday May 8, 2004 at St. Joseph Living Center in Windham. Born October 26, 1918 in the Bronx, NY, Alice was the daughter of the late Alice (Close) and William E. Kennedy. Prior to coming to Storrs in 1959 she was a researcher at the Association of National Advertisers in Manhattan. She was predeceased by her husband Thomas E. Ahern and her 3 brothers, William E., Robert E., and John F.X. Kennedy. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Jeanne Ahern and Mark Mogayzel of Westford, MA and her extended family. Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic on Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St. Willimantic with assembly at the church. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Thomas E. and Alice K. Ahern Award in care of The UConn Foundation, 2390 Alumni Dr, Unit 3206, Storrs, CT 06269-3206.
