Alfred John Scott, 81 of North Windham CT, passed away at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT on Monday (July 22, 2013). He was born in Four Falls, New Brunswick, Canada and moved to Connecticut with his family in the 1960's. Prior to retiring he was a talented machinist specializing in precision cutting tools, working for Atrax, Inc. of Newington, CT. He is survived by his wife Frances E. (Sullivan) Scott of 60 years, his son Wayne Scott of Broad Brook CT, his daughters Wanda and her husband Rich Ouellette of Enfield CT, Debbie and Bob Lambert of Willimantic CT, and Brenda and her husband Daniel Holbrook of Columbia, CT. His granddaughter Tisha and her husband Charlie Godfrey, his grandsons Andrew and his wife Nicole Scott, Timothy Ouellette, and Zachary Holbrook and his girlfriend Lindsey. Three great-grandchildren Parker and Kadence Godfrey, and Allie Scott. His brothers Bill Scott of Woodstock, New Brunswick and Donald Scott of Camas, WA and his sisters Stella Armstrong of Sandusky, MI, Reta Harrison of Amherst, Nova Scotia and Marie Empey of Red Deer, Alberta. Several other brother/sister in-laws, and nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Bryon and Rachel Scott, brothers Andrew, Ralph and Carl and sister Madeline Crossman. Besides spending time with his large family he had many hobbies and was active in the community. He was an avid Yankees fan and would let everyone know when they were leading in the standings. He loved to fish (never missing an opening day) and tinkered in his woodworking shop. He worked for the Windham Hospital "Meals to Home" program, volunteered his time to St. Paul's Church as a long time usher, was a member of the vestry, and served meals at the Covenant Soup Kitchen. He was also a lifelong Member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, where he earned their highest honor "The Pilgrim Degree of Merit".
