Alfred Kulhawy, 85, of Scotland, passed away Friday, November 29, 2013 at his home. He was born April 7, 1928 in Poland and immigrated to the United States in 1951. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Germany. Alfred was a member of Local 24 Carpenter's Union for 40 years. He enjoyed playing soccer and liked to watch UConn Women's Basketball. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Astrid (Barron) Kulhawy, his son Richard A. Kulhawy and his brother Bruno Kulhawy in Germany. He is also survived by three grandchildren and three great grandchildren, whom he cherished as well as many nieces and nephews in Germany. He was predeceased by his parents, his daughter Susan Underwood, two brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be private. There are no calling hours.
