Alfred Arnold Krause, 98, of Lebanon, husband of the late Helen (Flegert) Krause, died Saturday Nov. 3, 2012 at St. Joseph Living Center, Windham. He was born in Lebanon on Oct. 8, 1914 the son of Frederick and Elizabeth (Jung) Krause. In 1944, he and Helen were married at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Lebanon where he was a deacon for thirty five years. He was a World War II Army Veteran and had been employed at Hamilton Standard for thirty five years. Arnold was a life and charter member of Lebanon Lions Club and a recipient of the Melvin Jones Award. He was also a member of the Republican Town Committee for many years. He is survived by his sister in law, Claire (Schachinger) Krause of Lebanon and numerous nieces and nephews who adored him. He was predeceased by his siblings, Edmund, Harold, Caroline, Frieda, Lily, Elizabeth and Wilma. Callings hours will be held on Tuesday Nov. 6th between 6:00 and 8:00pm at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday Nov. 7th at 11:00am at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Village Hill Rd., Lebanon. Interment will follow in New Lebanon Cemetery.
