Alfred H. Hatt, 91, of Coventry, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at St. Joseph’s Living Center in Windham, CT.

Al was born on December 15, 1934, in Norwich, CT, to the late James and Myrtle (Perkins) Hatt. He worked for many years as a truck driver and enjoyed spending time at the Waterford Speedbowl, where he had a passion for racing.

In 1981, Al met his wife, Nancy, at a square dance hall in Coventry. They shared many years together and built a life filled with love and companionship.

Al is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy Hatt; his stepchildren, Tim Ausburger and his wife, Shirley, and Susan Arave and her husband, Troy Arave; and his grandchildren, Amanda Ausburger, Grant and John Arave, and Ethan and Jeffrey Fontaine.

In addition to his parents, Al was predeceased by his siblings, Doreen Fontaine, Jeffrey Hatt, and Alan Hatt.

In accordance with Al’s wishes, there will be no funeral services. His family will remember him with love and gratitude for the years they shared together.
