Alfred R. Denis

Alfred Richard Denis, of North Windham, CT, 71, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2015. Born October 3, 1943 in Springfield, MA, to the late Alfred & Lillian Denis of Chicopee, MA. Al is survived by his best friend and wife of 22 years Evelyn, his son James Denis, daughters Jennifer Bennett and her husband Christopher, Sarah Gilbert and her husband James, and daughter Emily Denis; his grandchildren, Kyla, Meghan, Samuel and Luke. He also leaves behind a brother Gary and three sisters, Suzanne, Gail and Elizabeth. He graduated Chicopee High School and was a member of the Army National Guard. He was an Appliance Service Manager throughout his career, retiring several years ago. He was an avid beekeeper and enthusiastic NASCAR fan. His wife, children and grandchildren were the pride of his life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Saint Mary Saint Joseph School 35 Valley Street, Willimantic, CT 06226. The family will receive friends Friday, June 12, 2015, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic, CT. A Funeral Mass is scheduled for Saturday, June 13, 2015 at 10:00 AM, at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St., Willimantic, CT with a reception to follow.
