Alexander Roy

Alexander Roy, 97, of Sanitarium Rd., S. Windham, formerly of Mansfield, husband of the late Myrtle (Lester) Roy, died Saturday Dec. 28, 2002 at the Windham Hospital. He was born March 8, 1905 in North Adams, Mass., the son of Alexander and Rhoda Roy. He had been employed for many years by Electric Boat in Groton prior to his retirement. Mr. Roy was a member of the South Windham Congregational Church and a life member of the Willimantic Elks Lodge. He is survived by a daughter and son in law Myrtle and Bob Demers of S. Windham, 4 step children, 2 granddaughters; Lori Nye of Mansfield and Robin Ackels of Uncasville, 5 great grandchildren; Jason, Allen and Steven Briggs, and Jessica and Vickie Nye, and a great great grandson Noah Johnston. His funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00am at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic, with the Rev. Bill Bartholomew officiating. His family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00am prior to the service. Burial will follow in the New Willimantic Cemetery.
