Alexander Lawrence

Alexander Lawrence, 86, of Windham, formerly of Bradenton, FL, husband of the late Evelyn (Tawney) Lawrence, died Monday, March 12, 2012 in Willimantic. He was born April 21, 1925 in McKeesport, PA, the son of Alexander Sr. and Sophie (Duh) Lawrence and had lived in the Windham area for many years. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II and prior to his retirement as a plant engineer was employed for many years by the State of Connecticut. Al was a jack of all trades and was self-employed in a variety of fields. He is survived by a daughter Cheryl Lepak of Thonotosasasa, FL, a grandson, Peter Nowakowski of Niantic, a granddaughter, Alexis Lepak of Florida, two sisters, Goldie Spucci of Wilton and Esther Washko of PA, three great grandchildren in Florida and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by siblings, Irene Mastrangelo, Yolanda Gianapolous and John Lawrence. His family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, March 15, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Willimantic with funeral services beginning at 2:00 p.m. Burial will take place in Masontown, PA.
