Albert J. Salinsky, 83, of Willimantic, husband of Rose (Gelak) Salinsky, died Thursday September 26, 2002 at the Windham Hospital. He was born February 3, 1919 in Willimantic, the son of Mary and Bartlomiej Salinsky. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, receiving 3 Purple Hearts and the Bronze Star. Prior to his retirement he was employed for many years at the Gold Star Post #1724 V. F. W. in Willimantic. He was a life member of V. F. W. Post #1724 and the Fox & Coon Club of Coventry and was an avid fisherman and hunter. In addition to his wife he is survived by 3 children and their spouses, Norma Johnson and her husband Ed of Windham, Joan Sypher and her husband Gary of Windham, Terry Salinsky and his wife Cathy of Coventry, 4 grandchildren, Adam Salinsky, Destiny Salinsky, Erika Johnson and Tera Johnson. Graveside services with military honors will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Cemetery, Club Rd. Windham. There are no calling hours. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to United Veteran's of America, Inc., c/o Veteran's Advisory Center WRCC, 872 Main St., Willimantic, CT 06226.
