Albert Chalifoux

Albert J."Bart" Chalifoux, 84, of Pemberton Rd., Willimantic, husband of Evelyn (Phanuef) Chalifoux, died Tuesday morning Feb. 24, 2004 at the Windham Hospital. He was born May 2, 1919 in Willimantic the son of John and Roseanna (Asselin) Chalifoux. He was a World War II Army veteran and had been employed at UConn. Mr. Chalifoux was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Willimantic and volunteered at the Immaculata Retreat House. He was a member of the Franco-American Civic and Social Club and a life member of both the Gold Star Post VFW and the Willimantic Elks Lodge. In addition to his wife he is survived by a stepdaughter Ann Freeman of Griswold, 2 grandchildren, Sheri King and Jeffrey Freeman and several nieces and nephews. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00pm. There will be a gathering at the funeral home on Friday at 9:15am prior to his 10:00am Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church, Valley St. Willimantic. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham, Ct. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc., CT.
