Albert R. Bourey

Albert R. Bourey, 87, formerly of Columbia, husband of the late Ellen (DeMontigny) Bourey, died Friday morning March 6, 2009 at Douglas Manor in Windham. He was born in Willimantic in 1921. Albert was a World War II Marine Corps veteran serving in the Pacific Theater. Prior to his retirement as a pipefitting inspector, he was employed at Electric Boat for twenty five years. Albert was an avid golfer, enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a Friend of Bill W. for twenty two years. He was a communicant of St. Joseph Church, Willimantic. Survivors include, three sons, Robert and his wife Kathleen of Willimantic, Mark and his wife Robin of Andover and Michael and his wife Patricia of Andover; a daughter Frances Szumkowski of Columbia, a sister Dorothy Rondeau of Mansfield, seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. His family will receive relatives and friends at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Tuesday between 6:00 and 8:00pm. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00am at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St. Willimantic, with assembly at the church. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham.
