Alan Joseph Slater

Alan Joseph Slater of Mansfield, passed on to greater life on January 28, 2012 after a brief illness. Beloved son, adored father and grandfather, loving companion and loyal friend. Alan, known to his friends as Joe, grew up in Willimantic but spent much of his life in New York. He was a kind, generous, humorous man and faithful Christian. Predeceased by his father Maurice, survived by his mother Hilda, his children Joseph, Jessie (John Piteo), Jason (Phyllis), and Robert; companion Maria Mejias; grandchildren Samantha and Coda; former wife Susanna Williams and Maria's daughter Lala (Stu) and children Alayna and Andrew, and friends old and new. Calling hours are Wednesday, Februar 1, 2012 from 1pm-2pm at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Willimantic with funeral services beginning at 2PM.
