Alan Perry Obituary
Alan D. Perry passed away on Saturday June 29, 2024 at Continuing Care at Harrington Court after a brief illness. Alan was born on July 2, 1938 in Windham Connecticut to Raymond Alan Perry and Eugenia D. Cary Perry Johnson. He grew up in Scotland, Connecticut and lived there for the majority of his life. Alan served in the Air Force.

Alan is predeceased by his wife of 56 years Gail Noren Perry, his father Raymond A. Perry, his mother Eugenia D. Cary Perry Johnson, and his stepfather Leonard Johnson. Alan is survived by his three children, daughter Selina Moriarty (Thomas) of Oakdale CT and two sons Jason D Perry of Scotland CT, and Neil A Perry (Annie) of Sherburne NY, seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by his siblings, James Perry (Margaret) of Scotland CT and Raymond Lee Perry (Sharon) of Glastonbury CT, Sister in law Janice Kay Hall (Thomas) and several nieces and nephews.

Alan retired from Pratt and Whitney AirCraft after over 40 years of service. He was a lifetime member of the Fin, Fur, and Feather Club and an avid skeet shooter. Alan was a member of the Scotland Volunteer Fire Department and served as the fire marshall. He also supported the Scotland Congregational Church where his wife Gail was a member through the maintenance of and winding of the Seth Thomas clock.

Alan and his wife Gail enjoyed taking many road trips in search of lighthouses and covered bridges. He was an avid amateur photographer who enjoyed capturing the memories of their travels and their families as well as any wildlife he encountered.

The Family would like to thank the staff of Continuing Care at Harrington Court in Colchester CT and the Visiting Angels of Groton CT for caring for Alan.

Alan’s family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, July 13, 2024 from 12:00pm to 1:00pm at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Willimantic, with a funeral service beginning at 1:00pm.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Scotland Volunteer Fire Department (P.0. Box 48, Scotland, CT 06264).
