Aime "Amos" Vigue

August 4, 1927 — October 29, 2001

Aime Amos Vigue, 74, of Circle Dr. Mansfield, died Monday morning Oct. 29, 2001 at the Hartford Hospital. He was born Aug. 4, 1927 in Jackman, Maine . He was a U.S. Army veteran and had retired from Pratt & Whitney in E. Hartford after 35 years of service. Amos enjoyed bowling at Willi Bowl in North Windham where he was in the ABC League and the Prime Timers League. He was an avid Yankees fan, enjoyed woodworking and contributed to many local organizations and charities. He is survived by 3 daughters; Nancy Powell and her husband Wayne of Dunnellon, FL., Kimberly Vigue of Mansfield and Kristin LeBlanc and her husband Jerry of Mansfield, 2 sons; Keith Vigue of Mansfield and Kevin Scott Vigue and his wife Jessica L. Vigue of Mansfield, a brother Gerard Vigue of Glastonbury, a sister Mary Elliot of Waterville, ME., 7 grandchidlren; Joey Powell, Sherri Townsend, Ryan Keith Vigue , Tiffiny Snow, Joshua Vigue, Devin Vigue and Jordan Vigue, 3 great grandchildren; Tyler Powell, Taylor Powell and Logan Townsend, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 4 siblings; Dinah Veilleux, Yvonne Henderson, Arthur Roy and Charles Vigue. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00pm. The funeral service will be held on Thursday at 1:00pm at the funeral home with his nephew, the Rev. Bill Vigue, officiating. Burial will be private in Jackman, Maine, a place he embraced. Please omit flowers. His family suggests memorial donations to the Connecticut Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 300 Research Parkway, Suite 310, Meriden, CT. 06450.
