Adolph Roman Halbach Sr. died peacefully at home on Tuesday morning June 10, 2003. He was born October 7, 1921 in New York City, the son of Adolph and Katie (Bauman) Halbach. His family moved to Hampton in 1928 and there he remained for the rest of his life. Adolph was a World War II veteran who was employed at various positions, retiring in 1992 from Semco. He was the former scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 33 in Hampton, a Grange member for 35 years and a parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Church. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Minnie (Kemp) Halbach. Adolph also leaves behind three sons and two daughters-in-law, Adolph Halbach Jr. of Thompson, John and Judy Halbach of Scotland, George and Keitha Halbach of Ashford, two brothers, Charles Halbach and Edward Halbach, both of Hampton, ten grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a foster brother, Guy Wood of Scotland. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Cedar Swamp Rd.
