Thomas G. Maclure, 74, of Windham, CT died peacefully at home on Thursday, November 21, 2019. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Arlene (Withington), his son Timothy and wife, Christine; two grandchildren, Connor and Alexis; two sisters; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his son, Thomas D. Maclure and a granddaughter. Thomas was a decorated combat veteran of the Vietnam War. He was awarded a Purple Heart and numerous other military medals. Thomas was employed by the University of Connecticut in facilities management and then at Windham Hospital. He was a champion racecar driver with his buddy, Ron, at Thompson Speedway in the 1970’s. The family thanks Dr. Thurston and Dr. Kamradt and their staff, Mansfield VNA, and other health professionals for their kindness during Thomas’s illness. His family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, November 25, 2019 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm and again from 11:00am-12:00pm on Tuesday, November 26 at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. Willimantic, CT 06226. Interment will follow on Tuesday, November 26 at Windham Center Cemetery with Military Honors.
