Martin A. Kiss Sr.

Martin A. Kiss Sr., 90, of Ashford, passed away peacefully at home with his children by his side on Tuesday July 11, 2017. He was born July 18, 1926 in New York City, New York, son of the late Arpad and Anna Kiss, both Hungarian immigrants and had lived in Ashford since 1928. He loved life, boating, ocean fishing, meeting and helping people, traveling and most of all adventures. He was an active member of the Ashford community, a farmer, co-founder of Kiss Realty (1961), and construction worker who helped build Mansfield Hollow Dam and many CT highways. He is predeceased by his wife June M. Kiss, a daughter Barbara E. Johnson of Noank, who was taken from us much too soon. He leaves behind his daughter Elizabeth Little and husband Eugene; son Martin Kiss Jr. and wife Susan, all of Ashford; son-in-law Kenneth Johnson of Noank; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and many close friends all of whom loved him dearly.
