Marlene “Joyce” Roy, 84, of Columbia, wife of the late Edward Roy, died September 10, 2018 at St. Joseph Living Center, surrounded by family. She was born February 24, 1934 to the late Lester Demont and Margaret Watters. She worked in various positions throughout her life and was a member of the Columbia Volunteer Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She is survived by a daughter, Michele Medeiros and son-in-law, Raymond; son, Brian and daughter-in-law, Monique; grandchildren, Annie Pinyard and her husband Scott, Eric Roy and his wife Nicole, and Amanda Ober and her husband Tysen; and great grandchildren, Jane and Murray Pinyard, and one due in November; sister, Lorna Annis; sisters-in-law, Rita Cutler, Yvonne Hart, and Rosemarie Poulin, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Ronald and Leonard, and her sisters, Noreen and Barbara. Joyce’s family will receive family and friends on Friday, September 14, 2018 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Willimantic. Her Funeral Mass will be held at St. Columba Church, Columbia on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 10:00 a.m., burial will follow at the West Street Cemetery, Lake Road, Columbia.
