Madelyn E. (Bigelow) Boucar, beloved wife of Joseph Boucar, died September 12, 2017 at Hartford Hospital. She was born in Willimantic on November 3, 1941 to the late Charles and Edna (LaFlamme) Bigelow, Madelyn was a lifelong resident of Andover, CT. Madelyn was a graduate of Windham High School and worked at Windham Hospital for many years where she retired. She enjoyed family day at her cottage on Coventry Lake which was held every weekend in which she would organize the food and entertainment for everyone to enjoy. She was called the “Hub of Family Day”. Madelyn also enjoyed camping at Hammonassett Beach for many years. She also enjoyed going to Foxwoods Casino with her husband. Madelyn was a loving and caring person, always wanted to help people and bring out the best in them. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her but she will never be forgotten. In addition to her husband of 53 years, Joseph, she is survived by a son, Steve Boucar, and his wife, Billi; two sisters Rose Zoldak and Doris Miller; two brothers Donald Bigelow and Raymond Bigelow; three granddaughters, Shaina, Jessica, Kim; two great granddaughters Nevaeh and Melinda. and nephew Ronald Bigelow and his wife Louise and many nieces and nephews; and a special friend Irene Collin. Madelyn was predeceased an infant son, brothers, Charles Jr., Francis, Bert, Eugene, Robert, Henry, and her sister Nellie Muzykoski. Madelyn’s family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday September 17, 2017 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195), Willimantic. Her funeral service will be held on Monday September 18, 2017 at 11:00am at the funeral home, with burial to follow at New Willimantic Cemetery.
