Linda (Skaff) Chasse, 81, of Willimantic, beloved mother and grandmother died peacefully, on Saturday, January 20, 2018 due to complications from pneumonia. She was born on December 31, 1936 in Willimantic, where she lived most of her life, the daughter of the late Thomas and Amelia (Haddad) Skaff. Linda first worked at Electro-Motive in Willimantic, and later in the East Brook Mall in Mansfield – both at Chocolate Fantasy and the Information Kiosk, before retiring from JC Penney in the early 2000’s. She was always well-known for her bubbly personality and joyful spirit. It seemed that she knew someone wherever she went, and she was always quick to greet them with her warm cheer. Linda is survived by her four loving sons: Thomas H. Dominique & his wife Dara (Ellsworth) Dominique of Willington, Michael F. Dominique of Lebanon & his girlfriend Gerlinde McCann, John D. Dominique of Willimantic, and Joseph W. Babbitt & his wife Kami (Pompa) Babbitt of Mansfield; seven grandchildren, whom she adored unconditionally: Chad and Lauren Dominique, Brandon and Madison Dominique, Christopher John (CJ) Dominique, Mason and Dakota Babbitt. She also leaves her dearest friend, Dollie Carli; several nieces and nephews, too numerous to mention; and her baby, Tanoose, a Boston Terrier who held her heart. She was predeceased by her brother, Frederick Skaff. At the time of her death, Linda was surrounded by her sons, her grandchildren, and close family and friends, who sung her sweetly to Heaven. The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff at the Mid-State Medical Center in Meriden, for their attentive and kind care during Linda’s brief stay. Linda’s family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, February 1, 2018 from 4:00pm- 7:00pm at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195), Willimantic. A memorial service and a celebration of her life will be held at 11:30am on Friday, February 2, 2018 at 1768 Storrs Rd. (Rt. 195), Mansfield. Her burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
