Kevin John Kimlingen

July 17, 1962 ~ July 30, 2019 (age 57) 57 Years Old

Kevin John Kimlingen, 57, son of the late Pastor John Peter Kimlingen and Patricia Kimlingen,  passed away  Tuesday morning, July 30, 2019 at Windham Hospital. 

Kevin was born July 17, 1962, in Brooklyn, New York and he has been a resident of Scotland, Connecticut for many years.  He graduated from Windham High School in 1980 and later attended University of Connecticut.  He was employed as a Lubricant Specialist and sales representative for Ocean State Oil Company of North Kingston, Rhode Island.   He worked in the automotive/industrial lubricant industry for over 30 years.  His customers were more than just customers, they were lifelong friends.

It brought Kevin great joy watching his daughter play soccer throughout the years.  Kevin loved coaching sports. He coached and mentored high school athletes at the varsity level for 20 years.  He led his teams to several championships. The highlight of Kevin’s coaching career was leading the Bloomfield Girls High School basketball team to a Class S championship in 2008.   Many of his high school players have remained close to him.

Kevin was an avid fan of all New England professional sports.  He especially had a passion for the New England Patriots. He had on ongoing sports rivalry with his Uncle Ted Kimlingen, who is an avid New York Sports fan.

He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Suzanne Kimlingen, and daughter Brittany-Paige Kimlingen, the apple of his eye. He leaves behind his sister Lisa Mazzola, brother Michael Kimlingen, and sister-in-law Rose Kimlingen. He also leaves behind his sisters-in-law Nancy Elliott, Carolle Breault, and Lisa Carr. He loved his nieces and nephews, Brandon Elliott, Kara and Dan McGinn, Ryan Carr, Zachary and Natalie Carr, Kaley Carr, Logan Breault, Kaylee Kimlingen and his great nephews Jack McGinn and Colton Carr. He is predeceased by his brother in-law Ted Breault and his nephew Jason Elliott.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, August 5, 2019, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195), Willimantic, CT. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at 10:00 AM at the Christian Life Assembly of God, 143 Windham Rd., Willimantic, CT. Burial will be held privately.
