Kathleen M King of North Franklin, CT passed away on May 25, 2018 at the age of 67. Born Kathleen Margaret Coover May 6, 1951, in the town of Cape May Courthouse, N.J., to Lester and Helen Coover of Villas, NJ. Over the course of 40-plus years of working in early childhood education, “Miss Kathy” helped shape the lives of countless children, most recently at Lebanon Elementary, Lebanon Kids, and St. Joseph’s School in Baltic. She was a passionate genealogist, and an active member of the Ashbel Woodward Museum in Franklin. Kathleen’s love of crafting and cooking was unceasingly shared with the schools and children to which she devoted so much of her time.
Kathleen is survived by her husband, George King III; brothers, William Coover, John Coover and wife Linda; children, George King IV, Elizabeth Carney and husband Raymond, and David King; grandchildren, Sean, Aidan, Evan, and Amelia Carney; numerous nieces and nephews, and over two thousand children whom she helped to enlighten. A Memorial Service will be held at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic, CT, Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 12 pm. The family will be holding a private committal ceremony afterwards.
