Judith Ann Marie (Camarco) Landon

Judith (Camarco) Rood Landon, of Chaplin, passed away on January 22, 2018 at her home with her family by her side. She was born on February 26, 1944 in Hartford, CT the daughter of the late Rocco and Angeline (Romano) Camarco. Judith grew up in Hartford and was a graduate of the Coventry Grammar School and Windham High School in the class of 1961. After graduating high school Judith worked at The Hartford Insurance Group, Brand-Rex, UCONN, and retired after 22 years of State Service from Eastern State University. Judith was a woman of many interests; she enjoyed taking road trips to Florida, she was well cultured in arts, movies, and music, she also enjoyed attending concerts, dancing, and going to the casinos. Judith enjoyed cooking, baking, entertaining, decorating and was always willing to help a friend or family member in need. 

Judith was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She leaves behind her husband, Walter Landon; a sonSteven Rood of Storrs; daughter Deborah (Rood) Pietras, formerly of Columbia, and her fiancé Jeffrey Kellogg of Fitchburg, MA, daughter Tammy (Rood) Tully and Michael Tully, of Windham, Step-son Jeffery Landon and wife Pamela; step-daughter Jan Roy and husband Randy; five grandchildren, Jared Pietras, Alaina Pietras, Jayden Cormier, Jordan Cormier and Joshua Landon; a sister-in-law Emilie Camarco and niece Cynthia Camarco and nephew Daniel Camarco and his wife Michelle and several cousins. Judith is predeceased by her a half-brother Thomas Camarco.  

Judith’s family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, January 25, 2018 from 5:00-7:00pm at Potter Funeral Home,456 Jackson (Rt. 195)., Willimantic.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am on Friday, January 26, 2018 at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St., Willimantic, interment will follow at Chaplin Cemetery, Chaplin.  To sign the online memorial guestbook please visit www.potterfuneralhome.com.
