Josephine Ruth (Eichner) Marrotte

Josephine (Josie) Ruth Eichner Marrotte, 84, of Eagleville, Connecticut peacefully passed away on July 6, 2019 in Largo, Florida. 
Josie was born in Eagleville on September 22, 1934. After graduating high school, she worked at the Electro- Motive Corp in Willimantic, followed by a time working with the Army ROTC on the UConn campus. She moved to Palm Beach County Florida with her family in 1975 where she worked with the federal government in other positions until her retirement in 1997. After her husband passed, she moved to Northern VA to live with her son, Michael and his family. She recently re-located back to Florida. 
She was married to Robert A. Marrotte on July 4, 1957; they were married for 59 years before Robert passed in March of 2017.
Throughout her life, Josie enjoyed raising her three boys, spending time with her family and grandchildren, gardening, she loved the ocean and going to the beach, boating, camping and traveling across the U.S with her husband.
Josie's family was the light of her life. Her reason for living.  She was always there to lend a hand or a compassionate ear to anyone that needed help.  She will be missed by many.
She is survived by her three boys, Richard D. Marrotte, Michael A. Marrotte and Thomas L. Marrotte; her five grandchildren, Ashley, Michael, Andrew, Brandon and Nicholas; her three sisters, Eleanor, Phyllis and Janet and the rest of her family and friends.
Josie is preceded in death by her husband Robert, her parents, Joseph Eichner and Rose Ruschak Eichner, her three brothers Dan, Joseph (Pep) and Frank and her sister Sylvia.

The family of Josephine Marrotte wishes to thank Brookdale Palm Beach Gardens Florida, Potter Funeral Home and St. Mary's Church.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic, CT. There will be a procession to St. Mary Church, 46 Valley Street, where the Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow the service at St. Joseph Cemetery on Club Road, North Windham, CT.
