John "Jackie" Hiltz Obituary

John Burton Hiltz, 64, of Windham, passed away Friday, October 25, 2019 at Windham Hospital surrounded by his loving family. “Jackie”, as he was affectionately known,  was born in Windham, CT; the son of Thurl "Phil" Hiltz and the late Barbara (Brisbois) Hiltz. He leaves to cherish his precious memory his beloved wife of 25 years, Marie (Legace), siblings; Brenda (Gary) Gagnon, Wayne (Mary) Hiltz, and through a very recent connection his biological brother; Brian Cruickshanks and his wife Patty. Jack also leaves behind two special nieces; Stephanie and Danielle Legace, brother in-laws; James and David (Kathy) Legace, Sister in-laws; Sandy and Roberta, eleven other nieces and nephews;  Stacey, Billy, David, Emily, Albert, Melissa, Justin, Scott, Anastasia, Crystal and Allen, two close cousins; Stevie and Gary (Debbie), and a host of other relatives and friends. Jackie was a very gifted man with many talents. He was a singer, songwriter and musician. He played in several local bands including Oasis, Triad, Rolling Thunder and Bushwack. He also took great pleasure in spending time with his loved ones, playing bingo, and was an avid Red Sox fan. A memorial celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at the Ukranian Club, 87 Boston Post Rd. in North Windham from 5-9 p.m. Interment will be private.
