Jennie M. (Hanson) Ouellette

Jennie Mae (Hanson) Ouellette, 81, of North Windham, CT, passed away on September 9, 2018, after a long struggle with lung disease.  She was born in Norwich, CT, on August 14, 1937, the daughter of the late John and Agnes (Franklin) Hanson.  She lived in Jewett City her first four years before moving with her family to Willimantic, CT.  She was a member of the Windham High School Class of 1955 and its reunion committee for several decades.  Over the years, she worked at the “MAG” Shop, Boston Store, Western Union, ECPSRO, American Cancer Society, Lane Rosen & Starkey, and retired from Quarry Street Internal Medicine as a medical receptionist in 1995.  A dedicated mother and wife, Jennie was a kind, sweet, caring soul who always put others’ needs before her own, even in her final moments.  Friends, colleagues and extended family will remember her for faithfully acknowledging those special moments in their lives with a heartfelt greeting card.  Jennie leaves behind (Joseph) Robert Ouellette of North Windham, CT, her devoted husband of 57 years; their daughter Wendy Ouellette and son-in-law, Tim Noble, of Brewster, NY; their daughter Jody Ouellette of North Windham, CT; her sister, Agnes Gollner of Willimantic, CT; her brother, William Hanson of Deltona, FL, and many wonderful nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and friends.  She is predeceased by a brother, Edward Hanson and his wife Olive, brother-in-law Arthur Gollner, and sister-in-law Barbara Hanson.  Jennie’s family will receive relatives and friends on Friday September 14, 2018 from 3:00pm to 4:00pm at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte.195), Willimantic, with a memorial service beginning at 4:00pm.   Many thanks go out to the Hartford Healthcare Hospice Team, Kaylan at Home Instead, and Andie, Patty, Joyce and Estelle for their care and support.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.  For an online memorial guestbook please visit www.potterfuneralhome.com.
