Jean Marie (Barlow) O'Connor

Jean Marie (nee Barlow) O'Connor, 89, of Willimantic, CT, lately of Atria Assisted Living of Glastonbury, CT, passed away  at St. Francis Medical Center in Hartford.
 A beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Jean was born in Davenport Iowa, one of eight children, to David and Loretta Barlow. The family moved to Willimantic CT when she was a young girl. There she met and married her beloved husband Arthur and accompanied him around the United States and even as far away as Japan in his career in the United States Air Force. She often talked of these days as some of the best of her life.

 Jean and Arthur had 4 daughters in those twenty years and then settled down in Willimantic when Arthur retired from the Air Force. She then enjoyed many years as a mom and Grammy, and also spent many hours as a volunteer at the Douglas Manor Convalescent Home in North Windham. She was also a faithful parishioner at St. Joseph's Church in Willimantic.
  When Arthur passed away last year, she moved into the Atria Assisted Living Center in Glastonbury CT where she enjoyed playing Bingo and trivia, and visiting with her visitors, family and the friends she made there.
 She will be greatly missed by her four daughters, Eileen, Joanne,Diane, and Mary, two sisters Mary Lou and Patricia, brothers Art and Robert,  two sons in law, nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren , and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. 

A funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Friday, June 7, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 99 Jackson St. Willimantic, CT with assembly in the church parking lot at 10:45 am, Burial will follow at St. JosephCemetery, Club Road in Windham.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to The Corpus Christi Bereavement Ministry 99 Jackson St., Willimantic, CT 06226.
