Jason Markowycz Obituary

Jason Markowycz, 49, of Tolland, passed away in comfort, November 17th, 2019 at Smilow Cancer Hospital. He was born October 7, 1970 in Willimantic. Husband to Jaclyn Sinkewicz. Father to Jacob and Noah Markowycz. Brother to Mick & wife, Judy. Son of Mike & his partner, Dotty Kay. Predeceased by his mother Rose Markowycz (Beaudry). Survived by so many family members not listed…Bella.

Jason was and is a warrior in the truest of forms. Our “SuperJay”. He loved family; and being a father more than anything. His love for life, dancing, cars and his jeep ran deep. If you met Jay, you would surely agree, he had an undeniable effect on people. He collected life-long friends working in various auto-body shops in Windham, Olender's in E. Windsor, and at Mohegan Sun.

Jason continually outlived his life goals every year through a 4-year battle of colon cancer. The biggest milestone, seeing Noah graduate high school this year. He and Jaci managed to let nothing get them down. Together always finding joy and adventure in the moments in between, making memories with family and friends and even put a few thousand miles on Tom's old jeep.

We could never be more grateful to the “cancer-family” we collected along the way, at both UConn Health and Smilow Cancer Hospitals.

He will be truly celebrated Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 11:00am at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson Street Willimantic, CT 06226. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jason’s memory are suggested to Jaclyn Sinkewicz. To sign the online memorial guestbook please visit www.potterfuneralhome.com.
