Hubert B. Asselin

Hubert B Asselin, 83, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2019 surrounded by his family. He was born in Willimantic CT to Adelard and Rose Aimée (Hebert) Asselin and was the youngest of eleven children. Bert served in the United States Navy, where he was commended for his outstanding performance during an aircraft crash in 1954. In his later years he was an automotive salesman.
   He was preceded by his loving wife Claire (Roy) Asselin, his brothers Greg, Noel, Oliver and Gill, and his sisters Margaret, Jean, and Vivian. He was survived by his companion Dottie Whalen, his daughters and their spouses Donna and Victor Aleszczyk, and Michelle and James Rupar, and his grandchildren Rodney McIntosh, Matthew Rupar, Natasha Aleszczyk, and Alexander Aleszczyk. 
   Bert was an avid bowler and loved
making people laugh with his endless jokes. There wasn’t a stranger that Bert didn’t know- or a smile kept to oneself. His family and friends meant everything to him. 
  Hubert's family will receive relatives and friends Saturday, March 23, 2019 from 2:00pm-4:00pm at Potter Funeral Home in Willimantic,, with a funeral service beginning at 4:00pm, followed by a reception at Scotland Firehouse.
