Henry J. Vertefeuille

Henry Joseph Vertefeuille, 89, of Willimantic, CT died on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at Windham Hospital on his own terms. He was born May 21, 1930 in Willimantic, CT to the late Joseph and Dina (Herveiux) Vertefeuille. Henry loved to work with his hands and created many one of a kind treasures; he could make a lamp out of just about anything. Henry worked for Electro Motive, Constant Brothers and retired from J&L Steel.

Henry was preceded in death by his brothers Gilbert, Norman, William and his twin brother Ernest. He is survived by his wife of 67 years Dorothy (Cartier) more fondly known as ‘Bun’, son David Vertefeuille of Willimantic, daughters and son in laws Linda and Rich Vaillancourt of North Windham and Judy and Stephen Smith of Columbia. Henry is also survived by his five grandchildren Ryan, Renee, Sara, Katie and Kevin and his six great grandchildren Dylan, Caylina, Cynthia, Rudy, Soleil, and Kevin; along with sister Aurora Safin, two sister in laws and several nieces and nephews. Henry also leaves behind his beloved dog Abby.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Henry’s name to St Jude Children’s Hospital, www.stjude.org. Calling Hours will be Sunday, November 10, 2019 from 2:00-4:00pm, with a Memorial Service at 3:00 p.m., Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Willimantic, CT.
