Very sorry to learn of her passing. She was an extraordinary teacher and I feel fortunate to have had her just before retirement, and then glad to know her through First Church in Mansfield after that. She taught so many the 3 R's and even more importantly how to live life to its fullest with kindness and generosity.

Butch and I are so sorry to read of your mothers passing. You were the first kids to welcome us into pondwood acress over 50 yrs ago.My mother Ann Robb and your mother loved each other. Every Christmas your mom would bring my mom her Christmas tree bread. So many memories at Barrows and Burnham store and of our little community. Both our moms are hugging each other in heaven and loving being with their husbands who they adored. Our deepest sympathies. Carolyn Robb Storrs Ps I live in Donald and Mary Clarks house right across from Moms house.

Eva was a colleague and friend, who took me under her wing when I first became a teacher. There are too many acts of kindness to report here, but suffice it to say, her compassion for helping others made a lasting impression on me and many others. I count myself as fortunate to have known this talented, smart, loving and generous woman. My deepest sympathy to her loving family.

Mrs. Eaton was my 2nd grade teacher when we first moved into town - and to this day is still one of my favorite teachers (50 years later.) She supported and loved her students, and helped us grow - and it sounds like she did that for her family and church friends as well throughout her long and wonderful life. She will be sorely missed and remembered fondly. My thoughts are with her family.

Eva Eaton was a TEACHER in every sense of the word - even to those of us who were privileged to be an aide in her class. Love and Blessings to her and her family. Pat

What a wonderful person Mrs. Eaton was! A demanding but compassionate teacher, a gracious friend and a legend in the Mansfield school system. I'm so sorry to hear that she is gone, and I send all best wishes to her family -- Deb, Charlie and all the others. 96 years old! She made a difference and I'll always be grateful to her.
