Edith E. Milhomme

Edith Milhomme, 100, of Willimantic, passed peacefully in her home Sunday, April 1, 2018 surrounded by her family. Edith was born in New Hampshire to Flosie and John Rutherford. One of ten children, they were raised in New Hamphire were she meet her beloved husband Roland Milhomme whom she married in 1937.  They moved to CT in 1938 where She worked at the American Thread as an Inspector, she retired at the age of 69 and spent her days with her husband and family.  Edith was known for her kind heart and accepting spirit. There was always a place in her home for all. She is predeceased by her husband of 72 years, Roland; her daughter, Eileen Brockett; her daughters-in-law, Cindy Milhomme and Dorothy Millhomme and her granddaughter, Jenifer Milhomme.  Edith is survived by her sister, Priscilla Rutherford-Ballou; sons, Raymond Milhomme, Francis Milhomme and wife Rhodha, Dennis Milhomme and his wife Carole; son-in-law, Bill Brockett and 38 grandchild/great-grandchild/great-great grandchildren. Edith and the family are eternally grateful to Kristina Wollen. Kristina was Edith's caregiver for 2 years.  She brought love and peace not only to Edith but to all of her family.  She is now part of the "Milhomme" family.

Calling hours will be Friday, April 6, 2018 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte 195) Willimantic. A Graveside Service will be 11:00 am Saturday, April 7, 2018 at St. Joseph Cemetery Club Rd. Windham.   In lieu of flowers please send donations to Willimantic Fire Dept. and Ambulance Service 13 Bank St. Willimatic, CT 06226.
